Melasma

Melasma produces symmetric brown or gray-brown patches, typically across the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and jawline. It is driven by sun exposure, heat, hormones, and genetic predisposition.

Melasma is chronic and prone to recurrence, so treatment emphasizes both correction and maintenance: rigorous photoprotection, topical lightening agents, and carefully selected chemical peels or laser treatment.
